BETTY WAYLAND MASON

A wife and mother of two, Betty Mason was forced to grapple with the death of her daughter Katy in 2016. Katy died from a drug overdose at just 19 years old. Since Katy’s passing, Betty has become a fierce advocate for those fighting to recover from the disease of addiction. She has even lobbied to pass legislation requiring safety locks on prescription drug packaging to help discourage drug abuse.

Betty is co-facilitator of the Nashville Chapter of GRASP (Grief Recovery After Substance Passing) and a Board Member and Chairperson for Development Committee for Mending Hearts, the largest recovery institution for women in her state.

Betty has been an executive in the field of advertising and public relations for over 40 years.
